Academy sells cast nets , u will do considerably better with fresh caught shad

A cast net and youtube will get ya going--
You will be glad you did for years to come.
Most times frozen shad or preserved shad from wal-mart is not nearly effective.

This. Start by the boat ramps just before daylight, dont be late. On most lakes the shad are super shallow near the banks right now. Please post results, gl

at the 309 ramp at RC, I've seen'em jump out of the water onto the bank. In 10 minutes had a 5 gallon bucket full

You also may think about calling a guide. There have been some that have made posts from time to time offering surplus shad for little or free. Its a nice option while you're still learning to catch them.
