60 degree water isn't that bad with neoprene. Wear something warm underneath and you should be fine. When it gets colder you can wear insulated anything..You'll have to use trial and error to figure out what makes you comfortable.
Bear in mind that you will get coldest around your midsection

Don't forget the toes, either. I wear 4 mm neoprene waders, thermal undies, jeans, and thick, wool socks in the winter, especially once the temps sink below 60. Don't forget the pfd, too. Winter is no time to be treading water!

FB, That is a great website, although I live in Houston and all the destinations are in the northern part of our great state. I guess my gas bill will go up.
Treetopjf, I have found that some good socks, a good pair of long johns, some fleece or soft cotton warm ups, and neoprene waders work great in cold water. Its amazing how warm one can stay in 40-50 degree water.

Awmiller and Kkathan, Thanks for the compliments! I wish I was able to get down south more--I'd be happy to add more places to the site from down your way. If you can get me some pics/directions/info, I'd be happy to add them! I've got a page coming on Palo Pinto from a visitor. If you have some good spots, let me know.

yeah therein lies the problem. There are not many places around Houston to tube. We have Lake Houston, but it is mostly a mud pit. Then there is Lake Sommerville and Fayette County, but that is an hour away at least and do not offer good tube fishing. If anyone knows different or has some "secret spots", then PLEASE let me know.
