I've heard people catching fish at night, first light and afternoon. I think there are more factors that play into it.....but I'm sure alot of people on here chart all those kind of things.

I caught some sandies last full moon. But then I've caught sandies since then too. I'm hoping to get a little pre-full moon action tonight at the boat slip.

The fishing seems to be much better several days before and after the full moon for me. They seem to get lockjaw and disappear to parts unknown the closer it gets to the full moon. Just my opinion.

I would definitely go ahead and give it a try. Obviously, all the fish in every lake don't quit biting at the same time just because it is the full moon. But my personal experience has been the fishing is not as good on the three day period of the full moon. Good luck with your fishing and the fish fry. I hope some others will chime on the subject.

Full Moon Good - New Moon also Good (about a 3 day window around that)!

Get that moon directly over head (like what would be noon for the sun) or get that moon directly under foot (like at midnight for the sun). Moon over head or under foot - double good time.

They know,

Used to fish for hybrids behind(lake side)the Sam Rayburn dam...no doubt the bite was usually great at night during a full moon, but stopped at daybreak...just my personal experience.

Makes the fishing slow in the mornings and turn on later in the day. You just have to wait it out.
