Got to holiday around 4 saturday and was heading towards tall man where a million birds were working along with a dozen boats, halfway there I noticed a couple big boils out in the middle but wasn't sure since it was so windy, killed it and drifted that way fast, got there and about a football field sized area erupted with big hybrids and shad flying out of the water. Good god it was amazing, they went down and came back up close to 2 hrs. Other pics were from the last 2weekends where we found them deep suspended around 30ft.

The boy and I went to cooper Sunday and got skunked, of coarse it was windy and the water looked worse than chocolate milk. We got back to the ramp and he begged me to throw the cast net, first cast we got this beautiful little guy, a Redfin shiner, new to me, and also some great gizzards. All fish released including bait.

Nice photos and report

Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach

Hey there TxShiner, nice fish. My girl and I were out there with you all and we were the only boats out there. We were on our way back to Holiday from tallman when we too saw those big ole shad jumping a foot or two in the air and birds going crazy, even the pelicans were out there enjoying it. Great fun.

We have been to twak the last three weeks too and been doing great at tallman and holiday humps.

Tallman area is worth checking out on any hybrid or striper trip to tawakoni

Kirk it sure was nice that nobody came over to investigate the 2 small aluminum bass boats. We hung around that one pelican and kept catching them when they would go down. Finally joined the boat show at Tallman, but couldn't handle the pontoon boat that kept motoring on top of them every time they came up, left them biting there and escaped to wolf to see if they would come up over there at dusk, but the wind died along with the bite.
