I haven't been on every inch of the Guadelupe, but just from basic familiarity and noticing the manicured trees in that one photo and the hill and large bolders in the backround it seems to be somewhere between crossings 1 and 4 just below the dam on the Guadelupe.
Those stripers were eating good!
Now if only TPWD would relocate some of those gators down at Choke that would make some bank fishermen happy!

Several years back someone posted here with pictures of some huge stripers that they caught at the horseshoe bend in the river, but that would take some digging in the archieves and I can't ever get the search to work for me.

They just took the next state record striper out of the Guad. Please return the fish to its proper location. Of course they are all smiles. I think its a sad day for all who fish the guad.

I caught this one right below the dam a few years back. It was a blast!
Mark 6:31-32 He said unto them "Come with me to a quiet place and get some rest. So they went away by themselves in a boat to a solitary place"

You might want to first read the TPWD stocking report before you make a half cocked comment! http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/fishboat/fish/action/stock_bywater.php?WB_code=0143It seems they have been stocking stripers since 1977 in Canyon Lake. Further more, stripers are a non native fish to the Guadalupe River drainage. I'm sure you would be all smiles if you had a 48 lb striper attached to you free lined gizzard shad. Seems like you might be a little jealous they caught it before you did!

Dude shocking fish does not count as being caught and the guy was just saying that the fish could be a state record and he seems to fish the river so wanted to have a shot at catching the big girl. If coming down and taking trophys out of the river system why in he hell even stock them.

not to mention stripers dont breed in the guad so if tpwd didnt keep stocking it at regular intervals then there would not be any in there after awhile. Im pretty sure a few bass fishermen would have some choice words for ya if you badmouthed the sharelunker program because its pretty much the same thing except tpwd ended up doing the catching. take the big bass, breed em to make more more big bass. fish eugenics make fish fat and happy and fishermans arms sore.
