Any thoughts on how the coming supermoon will affect fishing on the lakes? With the moon being at its closest to the earth, I'm curious how much it will affect tides and thus the fish.

The tides should be higher than they normally do, but how much not to certain? The Moon light will be somewhat brighter than normal. How does this effect fishing, well that all depends on what you are fishing for.

We're planning on hitting Ray Hubbard. Mostly we're looking for channel cats, but we'll probably shift gears and look for some bass at some point.
I was mainly curious about the moon amd it's affects on fish in general, though. I've never fished with the level of detail I have been lately. I'm trying to keep note of a sorts of little things when I get out on the water. Weather and water conditions, what lures and retrieve, time and like, water clarity.
Looking forward to Saturday. I scheduled the entire day for fishing. Haven't done that in a long time and never fished Ray Hubbard. Should be a good time.

We felt like it hurt our bass fishing on Tawakoni from what we had found previously.

Yes, I believe it slowed things down a little on Joe Pool. It had been cloudy the night before I went out, and the fish probably didn't see the moon, but they might have felt its gravity. Or, maybe they just weren't hungry.

They feed ay night by the light of the moon and are full and resting during the day.
