I have been using this knot for two years now and cannot agree with them more. I see this question pop up a lot. Everyone will use a knot that they have confidence in and that is what its all about. However for those that are not sure here are blog posts and video of the knot and those that speak of it. It is very easy to tie and only requirs 7-8 wraps each way and it does slide through the guides very easily.

love the alberto knot... when putting braid on a reel... I put some mono. or fluro backing and join the braid to it with the alberto knot...

haven't tried it for a leader yet.. but sure it will work great..

Been using it for a couple of years now crappie fishing with braid and fluoro and haven't broken a line to leader knot yet.

I use the triple surgeons knot, have not had any problems with it and I could tie it in the dark.

I have been doing that for years fishing for tuna never knew it had a famous name. But I use a twist to this knot, starting at the end opposite of the loop wrap 7 times. Go thru the loop and then do 7 more wraps toward the FC leader. Make a small loop in the braid and pass the braid tag end thru 3 times and cinch it all down after wetting the line. Once the knot is tight trim the tag end of the FC close to the braid and do 7 overhand/ granny finishing knots and add some super glue, so it will slide thru the guides with no hang ups.
