BASS FISHING TOURNAMENT & FUNDRAISER
SportsmanshipNo Fishing is allowed outside the contestants boat or within 60 of another contestants anchored or tied boat with the trolling motor in the stored position. Hole sitting is not allowed. All state and local laws must be observed, failing to follow the rules and regulations as stated by this document may cause forfeit of this entry fee, disqualification and/or fines from this and future Devon sponsored events. May be subject to polygraph.
EligibilityAny person who has registered, paid fees, and signed in the day of tournament can fish. All Contestants must strictly follow these guidelines, as set forth on the entry form. It is the contestant responsibility to read and understand these rules because entrants may be disqualified for non compliance and may be required to forfeit all prize money and entry fees if they fail to comply with the rules and regulations. The decision of tournament director will be final in all matters.
Tackle & TrollingOnly one fishing rod may be in use at a time, each cast and retrieve must be completed before another is made. Only artificial baits may be used (pork trailers included). Trolling with the combustion motor is not allowed.
ScoringScoring will be based on the weight in pounds and hundredths. Dead fish will be penalized .25lb per dead fish. 6 bass in possession per team will be allowed for culling purposes. The 6th fish must be released before weigh in, only Black, Spotted (Kentucky/Guadalupe) and Small Mouth Bass can legally be weighed. For Largemouth Bass, length limit is a 14 to 18 slot. Bass 14 and less or 18 or greater in length may be retained. Small Mouth Bass 14 or greater and Spotted (Kentucky/Guadalupe) of any size may be retained, and daily bag of all 4 species of Bass=5 Bass in any combination All decisions made by the judges will be final. *Special NoteSlot Lake*
Check In/Weigh In ProceduresWise County Park will be the headquarters location. All contestants must check in at the headquarters for boat inspection prior to launching or trailering to a location on the lake. Check in time begins at 5:00 am. Fishing hours will begin at 6:00am and contestants must be in line by 3:00pm. (No Exceptions)
Launch/Trailering SitesContestants may launch from any public or private ramp on the tournament lake at which they have legal access. Trailering to weigh-in is permitted if your live well system is adequate to maintain the fish in healthy condition. Contestants must check in at headquarters for pre-fishing boat and livewell inspection before fishing begins.
TiesWill Split the prize of that and the next finishing place.
ComplaintsThe tournament is a benefit for United Way of Wise County. If you are going to complain, please stay at the house. All decisions rendered by the committee are final. If any contestants refuse to abide by the decision of the tournament director and elects to litigate any dispute arising at the sponsored tournament, the contestant agrees by signing this form, the venue of any litigation will be Wise County, Texas. Furthermore, contestant agrees to pay for all attorney fees and cost incurred as result of such litigation regardless of outcome. A written protest must be officially reported 15 minutes after final weigh in of the tournament day.
Narcotics & Alcoholic BeveragesMay not be consumed during tournament hours. For the safety of all concerned, under the influence operation of boat will be grounds for disqualification.
RegistrationRegistration Fee is $125.00 per team. This fee is non-refundable. Fisherman must sign-in with tournament committee before beginning to fish.
CommitteeReserves the right to disapprove any application or disqualify any person.
Boats, Motor and Safety-- Any boat may be used if it meets state legal requirements, including BIA horsepower ratings. All boats must have adequate livewell aeration systems. Coast Guard approved life vest must be worn and fastened while the boat is on plane. All boats must have working kill switch attached to the driver during operation on plane. Devon Energy and/or United Way will not be responsible for boating, water, travel or any other accidents that occur. Each contestant is responsible for his/her actions.
Anyone caught not following state, lake, and tournament rules will be disqualified.
Devon Energy and/or United Way will not be held responsible for any accidents.
Benefit auction will follow tournament and weigh-in.
