I'm looking for a new spinner bait rod. Haven't narrowed it down to specific brand yet just looking for suggestions on what power rod and action for throwing 1/2oz - 1oz spinners.

On spinners that heavy i'd most likely try a 7' med hvy, i don't throw spinnerbaits that heavy though.

I thought about buying a new spinnerbait rod today, i needed a new reel for my spinnerbait rod since it's out of whack and i have a back up blackmaxx on it now. Fishing a tourney this weekend and no time to take my good reel to get fixed, so i had to just go buy one.

So while i was getting a new reel i thought about getting a new rod too, but it occured to me I have no idea what action or power my spinnerbait rod is lol.

It's perfect, but it's getting beat up and it's OLD. It feels lighter than MH, but stiffer than M.

It's 6'6" and a good length for fishing tight cover with it.

It's an old all-star and there's no markings left on it, i was going to get another ducket, but i think my m ducket would be too light for a 3/8 oz spinner rod.

I guess it might be a mh fast??

Completely off topic, sort of but what ducket do you think would fit that bill correctly, I think they have a 6'6" mh, but i think that might be a hair to stiff?? maybe not??

Around brush or heavy cover I like the 7'1" MH/Fast Abu Garcia Villain. If I'm slow rolling a blade anywhere that doesn't have super heavy cover I like the 7'1" Med/Moderate Abu Garcia Villain because I can feel when the blades stop turning.

If you like the 6'6 you have now they have the All Star Classic - Spinnerbait rods at Academy for $50... It's probably pretty close or identical to what you have now.

If you're throwing 3/4-1oz spinnerbaits a lot though, I'd go with a 7 footer + for sure. thumb

I'm going back out of the country for work Monday again,

I still want to order the drop shot rod and drop shot stuff we talked about a while back from you but i haven't been around my house long enough to get anything here in shipping, don't want that stuff to get jacked off the porch.

This will only be a short trip i hope. When i get back i'll give you a call and i'll get he drop shot stuff and we can talk about a spinnerbait rod too.

Thanks!
