I'm looking for a fishing buddy or two to fish some creeks. None of my friends enjoy fishing as much as I do and getting tired of going alone! I have a ski boat that I fish out of in the deeper areas but can't take it in the shallows. If anyone is intrested, email me at: fishinik@yahoo.com

Welcome to the club Nik, I used to fish out of my Mastercraft X Star on Austin all the time! You can fish a lot of good water on Austin from a ski boat. During the summer there are some spots that you can fish out of a ski boat that will produce lots of quality fish; however, many times you will need to throw an anchor due to those pesky ski and wakeboard boats

thanks airfob. I have actually never been on Austin in my boat. I go to Travis, Canyon, and LBJ. I might have to try it out though this summer! I'm itching to go so bad with this nice weather!!

I am in the same boat as many. I love to fish but many of my friends don't. I have a bass buster on the way, hoping to figure out town lake or some spots on Lake Austin soon. Any help would be appreciated, may even buy a second seat for it to bring someone along.

I fish around austin out of a kayak. I usually find some bass on Town Lake or Travis. Two 10 lbrs last summer. Also into whitebass at Reimers in springs past . Contact me through email if anyone needs a partner and I might be able to go. River T

I'm gonna say this once....and I hope EVERYBODY hears me on this one. Austin is CARP COUNTRY! I don't care what you usually fish for, if you live in Austin and love catchin' fish...and love catchin' big fish that fight hard.....go to Town Lake or Austin or the Colorado. THrow a bunch of corn and range cubes out and put some corn on your hook and throw out. Austin is the regional mecca of carp fishermen. People don't just travel from all four corners of the USA, they come from across the OCEAN! It's common to catch multiple fish in the 20's and have been caught over 40! THe buffalo have been caught up to 65lbs this year! Alot of 40lbs+ buffs! Here's the craziest thing....not alot of small fish are caught. Town Lake really has a high average fish. There are two carp tournament the last week of March in Austin and y'all should at least just pop in and say hey.
And if you're thinkin'....they're just trash fish! well....that's what I used to say as well. I used to, and still do, fish for game fish, but not nearly as much as carp and buffs. Hell, if I lived in Austin, my wife would just assume forget my name.
