My son and I made it out this morning. We launched at around 8:30. The wind was up a little but not too bad. We checked a couple of areas north of the island and marked some fish on a couple of them, but not what I was looking for. We mosyed around out to a mid lake hump that everybody loves to fish and found good marks. We looked around and could not see a boat anywhere. It's the first time in along time that has happened, especially on a weekend. We caught fifty or so there and then it got slow.....at least slower than my twelve year old likes it. smile we moved on over by Baptist point and found good schools on the slope in 24ft. We ended up with around fifty there until they slacked up again. Again all by ourselves more or less. We did see another TFFer out there. Hey Curtis it was good to see you again. I hope yall got into them good. We headed back to the ramp but on the way stopped at a area over by the south side of the island and marked some more good schools. We stopped and dropped and fish on again. We left them biting to get him back in time for his football game. It was a great day out and the lake was unbelievably empty.
All fish caught on Ole Uglies on humps in between 24 and 29ft and slopes in 13 to 20 ft. I would imagine that the shallow bite is on early but wouldn't know for sure because I haven't fished shallow in a long time. We ended up with 168 fish all released to get bigger for next time.

Hope you left a few for me Liprip. Back in town and ready to get after them ,had enough woodcarving for a while.
Got a couple of trips this week and a trip to Big Tex on thursday. My buddie from New Mexico is here and wants to catch a striper on top water on his fly rod so we will see.

That's the big point just west of the dam. Between twin points and the dam. At least that is the name I was told and have been calling it. Maybe a church camp near by?

Tell him to try some Green Chile on a #4 Tippet. The Hotter the better. He can use Pinon Nuts as strike indicators. If it don't work, tell him to send all the Green Chile and Pinon to my house. It's a valle thing ese. If you show it to him, he'll comprende.

Adios mi amigos.

LipRip,
Thanks for the tip yesterday, we did find them there, but they dissapeared after about 15 minutes. Found'um @ a 36' to 32' hump and caught for the next 3 hours steady, the wind pick up pretty good after you left the dam area.

Marquez0721, I was in a little red/white Skeeter. Just my son and I. It was a great day out on the water. Hope you did well.
Curtis, I tried to wave yall over earlier but I noticed you guys leave..... After I saw yall return is when I eased over to let you know. I am glad you got into them. The bite seemed a lot more aggressive yesterday than last week. I like it!!

I was in a basscat in that area looking for humps by the dam. I didn't want to crowd your area but I noticed you were on one of the humps( if that was you). Were you catching them there?
