well transom replacement anyway, not too sure about the good times yet.
noticed a couple of weeks ago the transom had a soft spot in it so ordered seacast and went to work yesterday. so far so good

UPDATE:
well got it done, finished sat morning, seacast is pretty easy to use and made for a rock solid transom.
it got some extra reinforcement at the top and on the inside with 8" and 4" biaxial tape.

I'll trade you. Your transom job for my garden tub retrofit (5ft. tub in a 5 ft. bathroom).

It looks great Hop! My Seacast was pink but i guess the hardener is the difference. I see you did a great job on the "Cap"....I thought that was the tough part..and the prep work..super

thanks, it helped that I had done a lot of glass work in the past, used to help do hand layups for canoes and kayaks. all in all pretty easy but I did have a full shop and tools to use too (thanks to best frnd).

Dang Hop! 5 days, start to finish?! Must be nice!!!! wink

I just glassed in my new transom yesterday... and that's about 8 months worth of time for me. Granted, I'm restoring the whole dang boat and doing a traditional wood/glass transom, but still 5 days is awesome. You could fish one weekend, install the new transom (seacast) during the week, and be back on the lake the next weekend.

not paint, rattle can bed liner, didn't have to be perfect with the finish sanding and in that area it works great due to the gas/oil/krap that seems to accumulate there.

Now if you would only have had that 200EFI Mariner to drop on it.
