Definitely need a swivel especially if you side-hook the flook instead of through the middle of the bait.

I love 12 lb test... but your gonna get your heart broke if your using it at Fork. Use 20lb floro... You get a 5 or 6 lb bass hooked up and he goes around a stump and your done with light line... especially if it has any nicks or scrapes. I use 20 lb on everything but my deep cranks at Fork.... of course that's just my 2 cents.

I would advise using line of 0.014 inches to 0.017 inches in diameter at Fork.
Go by diameter rather than pound test.
TFP Why? Pound test is whatever the line manufacture says it is, diameter must be as labeled. TFP
Above all else hold these two things in the greatest of circumspection; government and self. YOLO=Schiefspiegler

At Fork I'd throw 20 lb fluoro. Anywhere else I'd say 15. I just wouldn't want to get my heart broken with 15 lb line.

15-17 lb Mono or Flouro with a swivel and a 3/0 J hook. Add a split shot if it is as windy as this weekend was.
I use a swivel for no other reason other then to give the bait an action that cannot be achieved without one. On windy days like today and yesterday it also helps with the cast.

If you are not throwing flouro on your weightless pastics you are missing a lot of bites... 15lb will be plenty. Good luck!

100lb steel cable if you listen to some people, but I'd say 15lb should do you just fine. LOL

Regardless of line size, I always like to put a small swivel up the line about 3-4 ft to keep the fluke from kinking the line. Use braid for a slow fall or floro for a faster fall. +1 I agree with the swivel. I use berkley fluorocarbon vanish 15LB
