about to start planing my first trip to fork with two buddies and the wife. thinking about planing it around the first of june or july maybe august so she can go to canton while we fish. any suggestions on places to stay where i could leave my boat in the water and lodging on the water? and is the summer a good time to go or should i postpone till next year? any input is appreciated

summer is fine. it will be hot but the fishing can be some of the best all year, you just have to find the deep schools of bigguns. road beds, humps and deep main lake point drop-offs are the ticket. also should be some decent topwater action shallow at first light. also night fishing can be awesome in the summer and a good way to beat the heat.

I stayed at LFM last Monday and Tuesday... That will probably be where i stay from here on out... Great location, good ramp, marina, restruant, Clean Rooms, and only like $75/night for two beds.... and COVERED boat slips if needed... (I take my boat out every time i pull up to the ramp)
Have fun and good luck
