Flyboy, you hit on my point. I can't rely on spotlock and have to use the remote that hangs around my neck. Fishing docks or bridges, I have to have both hands to shoot a jig and keep a tight line. I can't do either when I'm constantly reaching for the remote.
To be fair, if you don't need accurate boat placement or can fish with one hand part of the time, then having a wireless system is great. I do love the ability to sit behind my console, look at my side imaging locator and still control the trolling motor. And, if I need to change jigs, I can put it in spotlock and not drift across the lake to the next county.
Just don't expect it to hold you on our typically small brush piles. It won't do it.
With a lot of use, I have gotten better controlling my position with the remote. Changing speed or direction is getting easier but, I still have to take one hand to locate the remote, make the change and get the hand back on my line or rod. If they offered a wireless foot control in addition to the hand held remote that worked together, I'd be a lot happier. If the spotlock held as advertised, I'd be thrilled. If I fished anything but crappie, I'd probably be much happier than I am now.
Also, I would buy another model, not the Power Drive as the mount is terrible and I know they have other models that are much much better.

I have the 101# Terrova with 60" shaft and ipilot on my Q6 Tahoe and I'm glad I didn't go with a 54" shaft and the 80# motor. I can sit off point in 25 mph winds all day with it. Not exactly what you need for crappie but great for deadsticking whites and hybrids off the bottom in the winter time. Mine came with a foot pedal as well so if I'm fishing docks and need precise control and two hands I use the pedal not the remote. You can't jig a dock and run the ipilot remote at the same time(or at least I can't). I guees they need a voice control mode on the remote to free up your other hand.
