I'll be headed out to a little spot called Black Bayou soon and its got a lot of lilly pads and grass and ought to be prime realestate to chunk a frog style lure. The only frog I have in my box now is an old strike king and I would like to stock up with some newer frog style baits. I was wondering what you guys are having the most sucess with?

Depends on the clarity of the water for color and how you plan to use the frog. most people like walkin frogs in, through, and around the pads. also some people like burnin to the boat. where as i like the popper, chugger frogs. i think i can just sit there and work it inside pockets longer to agitate them. but as far as brands. i just buy the cheap H2o. i think the only difference is that the spro frogs have a little rattle ball inside.

I bought a couple of the Booyah pad crashers and couldn't make them walk. Certainly could have been operator error, but then I borrowed one of my brothers Koppers and they were way easier for me, and had some luck at Fork this week with it. Plus they look awesome.

Keep buying the cheap frogs but do this: Get a pack of those oversized, I think it's either Yum or Zoom glass tube rattles. Slit the top of your frog and insert the rattle. Use a little super glue on the slit to seal it and you've got a rattlin frog.

I've got some fond memories from black bayou and an old scum frog.

I still like those the best for slow pad walking, and the ribbitt's when I want to burn them faster

Thanks to all for the suggestions. I'll definitely be trying a few of those out. Has anyone tried these?

Those Rage Toads are killer. I had a pettern going this weekend on them, I found that shallow dirty creek water like a foot deep and very muddy with what I cal alligator grass in it. Was throwing it shallow and they were destroying it! I didn't put the pattern together till about 9:30 am, i was throwing buzzbaits and flukes bedore that with only one caught. Tried the frog in what I just described, I boated 6 by the time I had to leave at 10:30 and missed about 4 others. I love those things. Bass pro brand in watermelon red

I have noticd the skin on the H20's tend to start peeling after a few fish. The spro and strike king have a lot better action/walking abilities. I have to be honest though and state I have caught a lot more fish on the H20 this year, something about that blk/red flake is really turning my fish on.
