I have a 92 skeeter 200 dx. The TM I want to replace is an 82lb but I was wondering if that was just over kill or necessary?? What is your preference??

Depends alot on the wind. I say get the strongest you can afford for the TM itself, the cost of batteries needed, and the weight of the batteries, not to mention the space for the batteries.

No fish is too good for the grease.

The 84# Maximum Minn Kota is a great moter. It will get the job done. It is the go to TM on the 18, 19, and older 20 ft. bass boats.

if you oversize, make sure you get variable speed. this will allow you to fine tune for the conditions better than 5 speed. hope this helps.

Fortrex 80 might be enough. I have the ZX20 which is the 225 redone. I have a 101.

The 80# Fortrex would do fine. It is a 24V, which means two batteries run the motor. I had one on a 21' bass boat and it was sufficient. I liked it. The 101 motors are great not only for more power, but they will last all day without draining the battery. The one thing to consider with it is that it is a 36V trolling motor. You need to make sure you have room to add another battery to the battery compartment if going larger.
