I started with zip ties around the corners for "rod holers". Nothing is going in the crate that could damage the rod handles, so I thought why not keep it simple.

Rods in their "holders".

A bungee zip tied to the crate makes a good rod keeper.

One down, three to go.
Snug like a bug.
The bungees for securing the crate have a zip tie around them too, but they are loose. Not so loose that they can slide though. I lose stuff easy, so it works for me.

Like my granny would have said, "Tight'r 'n Dick's hatband!"

I may have to break down and get me a crate. Don't get me wrong, the bucket works great, but it lacks that certain something... Might run by the container store and get a red one to match the Pescador.

It looks like you had an extra space at the end before the [/ causing it.

I found some of the cheap white rod holders at Academy and I think they were $4.99 each.
I used a combination of screws and zip ties to secure them.

If you have a space molded for it make sure it's not to big. My wife got me one that was hunter's orange from the crate store for my Frontier. The crate space in the Frontier is made for a REAL crate, like a milk crate. The one from the store was too big.

yeah, I picked up a cheap Walmart crate, and it was too big. I'm pretty sure a regular milk crate will fit, I know most of the other Pescador guys use them. The tank well has a round indentation also, so the bucket sits nicely

So, are you lovin' the NuCanoe? How about a real world report?

The container store carries two milk crates. You must have gotten the larger one because the smaller one is the exact mold of a standard milk crate.

I had the same thinking and got the red crate for my pescador. It's s darker red more like the Hobie red. But it still looks good. Just make sure you get their smaller crate.

I am loving it! I have been "test driving" it in different locations and conditions. Tomorrow I'm taking her out into the wind. That's about the only thing I haven't tried yet. I don't plan on paddling in rough water if it can be avoided, but it would be good to know what to expect. I promise a "review" is on the way. I went to the Huntinpeck School of Typing. 60 letters a minute is about my top speed, so hang in there! lol
