Do sandbass and hybrids school in the Spring/Summer the same as they do in the lakes?

I have caught them schooling below California Crossing spillway, and on the river itself up around the 635/Luna Rd area. Found them on the surface there one day a few yrs ago and caught them for an hour straight, non stop, on a Mini Trap, silver/blue. They covered half the river! Sandies and hybrids mixed. Had a couple cat lines out with chicken liver and the hybrids started hitting that!

good job rudy i have also caught them on the trinity all the way up by me outside of crandall in the spring when the water runs out of hubbard and lavon they have to go somewhere, and I THINK i know a hole that holds some , ive never caught them at a certain spot but have witnessed some huge blow ups on the surface and knew it was anything but a hybrid or sandie.

California Crossing at the small spillway. Caught tons of sandies, crappie, and a 5 lb. blue cat...that one was fun a small rig!

The parking lot next to the armory is where the spillway is.

Seen some nice cats pulled out of there, next time I go down for some sandbass or striper I am going to put a pole out for cats and anchor it down just in case.
