IT'S HERE WHAT WE'VE BEEN WAITING FOR...LAKE TEXOMA STRIPER TOPWATER TIME! Early before sunrise and late in the evenings we at Striper Express enjoy working strategic ambush points with surface lures and is one my favorite...heck IS my favorite way to catch these hard fighting fish! After a few weeks of insane numbers of smaller males and big white bass "typical april" today for me anyways the big fish returned from the spawn and found my plugs smile The striper fishing has been fantastic for numbers and with fish returning from upstream Lake Texoma fishing will only get hotter! some of the catches...

Are the shad still spawning alone the rocks? I was considering topwaters and Moes Nana Shads this weekend.

Nice report Chris....I will be on the big T May 19. My wife got me a guided trip for that weekend for xmas. Had I know she was doing it I would have booked with you again. Had a good time fishing with you a couple years ago.

Be there tomorrow, I figured they would show up the day after I left. Will give the top water a go at sunrise. Plan to be in the boat heading to the rocks at 6:30am. Is this early enough? I know that some of the times I fished with you we would go out in the dark and start fishing before I could see anything. I could hear the splashes but could not see a thing.

I'm definitely ready for some topwater striper!

Went down to Academy and bought a DOZEN Pencil Poppers to bring with me. Gonna hand 'em to Chris as soon as I get on the boat.

Why? Cause last time I got a little TOO EXCITED when the striper were schoolin and chucked lures onto the rocks about every third cast :-(

I've felt guilty ever since and need to make amends.

PS, I also don't want to run out of lures :-)
