One or two if my practice yielded good results.

It's rare that you can fish a tournament with only two or three rods... patterns change a lot, especially in the spring. Gotta be flexible and ready to take advantage of any situation!

Do you hunt with one shell no, do you hunt with one arrow no, do you golf with one club no. So it stands to reason because of all the techniques and situations plus changing conditions you dont bass fish with just one rod. Plus things break or wear out on the water too and we dont get to pick when that happens.

It worked for me 28 years ago when I had to explain my bass fishing collection to my wife.

This is probably going to be an argument/discussion you can�t win! I mean bear minimum 5-6�.but you may want crank rods with a 1-2ft crank and one with a 5-6 crank and one for ten ft�.that�s three rods right there! I guess it would also depend how proficient you are using a single rod/combo for different techniques. And there�s always the money issue��it�s not worth sleeping on your bass boat�..or is it? It is true you can only use 1 rod at a time!

During the last tournament I fished I threw 2 different cranks a spinner a worm a jig a carolina rig and a shaky head but the fishing was pretty tough and I didn't really ever get on a solid pattern - there are a lot of days when I use the same one or two rods all day - still after reading some of the responses about needing only one or two rods don't BS the guy like you don't have 12 or 14 more with something tied on sitting in the rod locker........just sayin.

I put 9+. Figure you're trying to prove that you need all 56 combos but still need that new reel thats on sale

Really if things go well its only a couple that seem to get used. even if theres a dozen in the box.

I may wind up using only 2 but when I don't bring an assortment I wind up needing what I left at home.

I take the kitchen sink just to fun fish falcon lol. Four or five spare rods two or three spare reels with different retrieval speeds spare spools line spooling box with different lines. Tourney no different better to be safe than sorry. Like stated conditions can change in a hurry in a tourney you want to be prepared for any thing the fish or mother nature can dish out. I think the better explanation would be its not a hobby it's a necessity wouldn't go with ( obbsesion) good luck.

Just teach her how to fish with a bait caster so that you have an excuse to buy a few more combos and then when tournament time rolls around you can use "her" set ups as well. It worked for me lol

Exactly what rx said.I don't know any serious bass fisherman that don't carry 20+ rods in the boat, not all on the deck, but they gottem and I have to admit, I probably got that many in my boat.

Just aske her how many shoes does she have??? Why so many?? she can only wear one at a time!! Usually will make them stop and think anyways.
