My son and two grandsons are planning a trip to Lake of the Pines mid March, 13-20. I would like to know if there is a guide service for a at least one full day for me and my son. If the grandsons, 13 and 10, can be included the better. I have a boat and can tag along... We're flexable.

I understand there's an abundance of cypress, pads, and hydrilla.

I've never fished Lake of the Pines before and would like to at least have one 'good day' of fishing. Any help / recommendations / referrals would be most appreciated. I'm a CABA Member, #0203, and fish the Lavon Weekly tournaments.

I could help you out on this one. I have that week open in my schedule. Weekdays are great with less crowds and no tournaments. Email me if you would like to get a trip togather.

I plan on fishing Pines that week also. Maybe we could get together there. Fished a week long tourney there in 97'(?) and had a blast. Also caught alot of crappie on bass lures. I plan on crappie fishing with some bass fishing when possible.

Thanks, all. I'll get some more details of the cabin we have reserved. We will arrive Sunday 13Mar2005. I have to return to DFW Monday-Thursday returning Thursday night through Sunday when we break camp. I'll be on the lake with a Ranger 375 150 Yamaha with orange 'Nitro Fish' Decals on the cowling. My son, two grandsons, and stepson will have my boat the days I'm gone to DFW. Thanks again and I will begin making more firm plans with the received information.

Paul,
Welcome to the TFF, the greatest fishin' forum on the net.

I am sure the referrals you have been given are good. You can also click on the Guides/Destinations link at the left of the screen, lots of Guide info there.

I am jealous of your up coming trip. That is a really nice lake, beautiful area. Hope you have a great trip. smile
