How long of a leader are you using? Thanks.

6"-10"....no method to the madness.

Cody uses braid as his main line as he uses a spinning set-up. If you dont use a spinning setup then use floro or mono no bigger than 15 lb. test. I too prefer the Owner Rig'N hook but mine has a special twist from River A Tackle. Check out the drop shot section @ River A Tackle for all of your drop shot needs.

As for baits...well I primarily use 3" flukes, finesse worms, and Grande Bass Baby Rattlesnakes.

Good Luck!!

Thanks for the reply, mine is a spinning rod, Falcon drop shot special. I am wondering how long the fluoro leader is from the main braid? I used that Owner hook as well, works great

P,

2' to 3' would be fine as would 40yds. If it were me I'd go 40yds if I had that much line at the time.

That would be a question for Cody...I am not sure if he is tying his main line(braid) to a swivel or if he is using a blood knot.

I have found that a longer flouro leader, say 4ft, will get you more bites. Plus I use a small swivel to tie them together. This is reduce line twist and give you a solid connection.

I know alot of guys that use a swivel. My son does an uni-knot or blood knot. Braid 10#, Fluorcarbon 6-8#, on a 6'6" MH Spinning Rod.
