Caught over 60 yesterday. Lot's of barely 10 inchers. Kept 19 for the fryer. All on brush in 12-18 foot of water at about 12-14 feet down. Some piles they wanted the jig swimming, some they wanted it dead sticking. Every big fish was caught dead sticking. Used white and chart rocky tops and gold and grey feather kids.

Thursday We had 30 keepers from noon to 5. Sat morning we had 15 keepers from 8-12. All in 4ft of water and less. All in grass away from the buck brush. They liked it dropped to the bottom then lifted just a little. I used 1 black and chartreuse thump buddy each day. Toughest bait I've ever seen.

Wylie are you using your float tube or wading? I tried around Lavonia and have been catching a few still wading in the buck brush but nothing in the grass. I will give it a shot tomorrow again I guess. The wind has been running me out the water.

I didn't even think to try shallow. I figured the spawn was close to being over. When I found them on the brush, I figured that was the pattern for the day. Should have hit shallow I guess to get some pigs but I managed 19 11-14" which was good enough.

Can you explain dead sticking technique ? I usually use the pendulum swing on brush. Thanks and good jigging.

Dead sticking is simply putting it in their face and not moving the jig at all.

Actually I was in the boat. Thursday, I was in a wind that changed all day. It started from the SSW @ about 15mph, and by end of day it was coming from the NE around 10-12. Saturday it was coming from the NNW @ about 10-12 and settled a bit by noon.

Yesterday, I took my son and we fished in 16-20 ft of water from about 4-7 and had 16 nice keepers.

So, it varies. I can say the fish I caught shallow last week were in the North end of the lake.

Yup, that was me. Man hope your wheel hub was ok. That wind was ridiculous. Glad we got your boat loaded though. I took out my trailer light with my boat. Thankfully that was all that I messed up. 5mph winds my rear.
