Me and my partner have a club tournament on Cypress Springs next Sunday and have never even been on the lake. Any advise would be greatly appreciated! Not asking for your secret hole. Pm me if you would rather not post.

good luck! fishing has been tough the past few weeks. start early with a top water then hit as many docks as you can with a shakey head.

Like many NE Texas lakes, all the fish spawned at once and early and they are in an early post spawn funk.

That's funny. There were fish on the beds last weekend at Cypress. Good luck Michael.

The lake HAD been on fire for me the past couple weeks but was much slower this past weekend and the size disappeared on me. I did manage a few ok ones Sunday morning just junk fishing behind my house. I also talked to a boat fishing one of the FOUR tourneys on the lake Sunday and he said they caught all of their fish right up against retaining walls on small black and blue jigs. He said if his bait didn't hit the wall he didn't get bit. Good luck this weekend. I'll be out there on Saturday.

I fished a club tourney out of there Saturday. We launched at Overlook Park along with about 4 other tournaments. The fishing was tough. I weighed 4 tiny keepers that were caught on watermelon shakey heads around docks. If you haven't been to this lake before, boat docks are about 99% of the sturcture in the lake.

12 pounds was leading our tournament as of Saturday. The other club that weighed in at the same time also had a little over 12 pounds claiming first place.
