Taking my son down to Falcon this coming weekend. We've never been. Looking for advice on where to stay, fish, what to throw. Also, if anyone else is going down, would be interested in netting and caravaning down. Any advice or invite to travel with would be appreciated

Just got back myself, caught em pretty good. Don't be afraid to use fluoro in the trees, you will break a couple off but will get 3x bites, and don't get the wings at the steakhouse.

I just got back from down there. Stayed at sunbridge and had no issues at all. Fishing was great, I finally joined the dd club with a 11.53 lb big girl. Big football jigs and deep crankbaits. Talk to the boys at falcon tackle and they will point ya in the right direction.

For your first time on Falcon I recommend to hire a guide for the first day. You will not be disappointed and will learn a lot about how to fish that awesome lake. My son and I went out with Jay Grieshaw 757-537-5968 on Friday. Jay is a super nice guy and showed us so many things we didn't know about how to fish Falcon even though we had been there many times. Give Jay a call. For some reason he still had Fri/Sat/Sun open for the last weekend in April. Good luck to you and your son. Post back and let us know how you did.

Mark I appreciate the kind words......you have one heck of nice son there and hope to someday soon meet your other son. Be safe and dont be a stranger.

Friday is booked up now, but still have the weekend open oddly enough.

o9rady you might just time it right.....past 3 days have been tough with the front that moved through. Drop me a line if I can help.

I'm thinking we are putting in near Zapata. Any ideas on where we should fish.

Yesterday was beautiful...clear, 5 mph winds, fishing the mouth of Tigers with the mountains in the background. Maybe the best weather day I've ever had on that lake.

Stay at the Holiday Express and get up early eat breakfsst with all the other fishermen. They are good about sharing info with you. Falcon Tackle is a good resource for info too, but he is a super fluke promoter which catches fish.

Me, Monte and some FNS gang are going down at 4:30 am tomorrow to fish Tues, Wed, Thur... Looking forward to 100 degree days and big bass. I'll try to report back on how we do and maybe help out some. I know they are on a dragging bite right now.

Here's to ruttin' bucks, cuppin' ducks, & kicker fish luck!
