Has anyone ever been fishin with a buddie and felt them two little bumps and set the hook so hard you almost fell over backwards, but come to find out you set the hook to a rock or a stump and your partner just laughs so hard. Or am I the only one.

Defiantly funny! But not as funny as someone saying grab the net while fighting a tree limb all the way to the boat.

If the boat doesn't rock when you set the hook, you're not jerking hard enough.

I watched my dad sitting in the grandpa chair and set the hook, and lean back except he wasn't sitting so the backrest was behind him..he does a backflip off of the seat and whacks his head on the cleat..scary for a second until I saw he wasn't seriously injured and the laughter ensues.

Yes for me and if it hasn't happened to you yet, it will if you fish long enough!

I have set the hook on a dink in shallow water and have him fly over my head.

My dad and I were fishing with Brooks Rodgers one time over at fork, Brooks had just caught a 5lber and was down on his knees unhooking the fish in the water when my dad gets a bite and set the hook so hard, a two pounder came flying out of the water and NAILED Brooks. Hit him just under his eye and dang near knocked him out...he complained bout a headache the rest of the day. It was the funniest thing ever! Brooks is an awesome guide and a great guy that was one we will never forget!

Had a couple of these, but the best was when I ALMOST got my partner in the face with one. Two or three inches to the left and I woulda slapped him good

the worst is when your flipp'n or punch'n... and you feel that little bit of weight and you give it the goods... and then there is 1/2 to 1.5 ounce projectile hurtling toward your face... and you have to duck and cover...

Yeah it's like dry firing a bow NOT GOOD!
