I have all three as well Lowrance hds 7 with structure scan etc. The unit has been set and reset by lowrance facts from the web and numerous hours on the lake(s). The sonar can show tons of arches and the si and down scan will show minimal activity i.e bright and or large dots mixed in with lots of lighter or grayish dots of all sizes. When I first used this marking , I fished it and caught drum and or cat fish from 1/2 lb. to 10. Therefore, I do not bother repeating the effort. For the record, large arches with a definite red to one end generally means kitty fish! Any help is not only appreciated but indebted as well.

If looking for sandbass look for fire ant mounds.That is what they look like, Used to catch a lot of sandbass when all we had were flashers. So what ever kind of depth finder you have you have to learn to use it. Best striper guide on Texoma still uses a flasher and boy does he find the fish. Johnny

Went out yesterday with my little girl and fiance. Found a mid lake hump on the map and went to check it out. End results were 75 keepers and well over a hundred toatal with most being doubles. Thanks for the advise guys.

On a side note, we were almost killed by some very disrespectful sailboaters.Someone is going to get killed out there. A couple of the boats were using us as an end point to race to, and turn around. One came within 10 feet of us. Very scary. We finally left because of these sailboaters with no respect for anyone else on the water. I should have got some boat numbers to turn in but I didn't think of it at the time.

I've been hearing a lot about the sailboats this week. Are they exempt from boating laws?

No sail boats on week days.that is about the only hump that is on maps. I know the hump you were on because of the sail boats.

Will1979iam, we were out there Saturday and witnessed the sailboat that almost got you. As a matter of fact, I have a video of it. I keep a Flip video camera in the boat and taped several near misses that day. Your daughter sure is cute and appeared to be having a great time. I hope she wasn't horribly scared when that boat almost got you. It sure was close. I will try to figure out how to upload the video here.

This has always been a problem on Eagle Mountain on the weekends. If you fish the twin point hump on most weekend you are going to get a thrill on how close they come to you there. No nothing will be done about it they are the big money boys and no body will mess with them. Don't make it right but is just a fact.The easy solution is find some more fish somewhere else. That is the only hump that they will bother you on.Sad but true.
The answer I get you can fish there and they can sail there.
It has been that way for forty years so don't look for it to change.

I was on the lake with my 10 year old son on Saturday. The lake police were too busy harrassing us to pay attention to the sailboats. I tried to get a better look at the new twin peaks park/boat ramp. I saw a couple of jet skis at the beach so I was not concerned about the, "do not enter" buoys. I used the trolling motor to go around the new boat ramp and as soon as I crossed the buoys, here comes the police boat. It took them about a half hour to check everything they could think of, and the wind blew us up on the beach twice. Lucky I did not tear anything up on my boat. We had everything they asked for, but they gave me a warning for criminal tresspass. At least I did not get fined, but if they are putting in a new boat ramp, rv park and beach why are they so concerned about a boat in that area?

I had a sailboat get 2 feet.....yes....2 feet from me on Saturday morning at Eagle Mountain......not even an "excuse me" or "sorry"

If the couple wasnt about 65+ years old.....I would have been on their boat!!

Wow....I didn't realize how close they came....they had to rip sail to keep from t-boning us. It really makes me mad looking at it again. If I did't have the ones I loved with me I would have acted very foolish most likely. Thank you Jesus

Richard Meadows and I were chatting it up and this sail boat literally went between us.....we couldnt have been 20ft from each other so I am not sure how he ddnt hit one of us looking back!

I had two young kids on board.....I was not happy!!!

The sailboats do not bother me unless they get closer than 15 ft from me.....they are actually pretty cool to look at.....even a few hot chicks every once in a while!!

We will see how they like their pretty boats smelling like rotten A$$ for a week!!

If they are close enough to me that I can spray them with a scoop of chum then by god they are too close!! :-)
