When I put my HDS on Standby the screen goes dark and flashes "Lowrance" intermittently...but what else is it doing? Does the sonar tranducer continue to pulse or is it silenced. I ask because when it turn it back on it seems that it has continued to use both the sonar and LSS1 because it has a lot of recent history available and I think it is interfering with my front sonar a little.

I think you have the wrong forum Kyle...Lowrance Thread will probably get you help...our solution would be to get a Humminbird

I run a Humminbird 383c up front attached to my Minnkota Terrova w/US2. I have been thinking about upgrading to a Humminbird 587-ci HD DI. Will the US2 transducer in my TM work with the 587?
Keep on fishing.

Dave, the HB units with DI will not work with the US2. You will have to place it on the trolling motor bottom and thread it up the shaft. This is well explained in the (I believe) crappie.com forum. I just did this in March with my Terrova US2. I have the HB 597ci HD DI. Jimmy

Thanks for the reply Jimmy. I kinda figured it wouldn't work since my 798ci SI didn't when I tried to run it with the US2. Had to ask the question anyways to be sure.
Keep on fishing.

DaveB, your 798ci SI will work with the US2 IF you just want to use the unit for 2D sonar. Universal Sonar 2 is one of the choices in the Transducer Select items in the Sonar menu.
The US2 won't do Imaging though.

The US2 won't do Imaging though. It in fact worked great as a 2D sonar. May just stay with my 383c up front. It's been a good unit.
Keep on fishing.

If you want to upgrade the 778c HD or 788c HD (2D Only) will work with the US2 Sonar.

Hopefully this is not annoying repeat question I searched but found nothing.
I have a 788ci HD DI unit that I purchased new 1 year ago. Recently I started losing GPS and getting a message "No GPS Receiver Connected" If I turn the unit off and on again it usually remedies the problem but sometimes it works for 5 minutes sometimes the rest of the trip. I am using firmware version 5.500 and the serial# is 11021003-0360
Any info on what is causing this would be greatly appreciated.

Anyone know what would cause my down image to cut out after a certain depth? My 2D images and side scan are all fine......and this happens when I use DI in anything deeper than 30-40FOW. It just started happening and I haven't changed any settings. This is on a HB 798ci HD SI/DI unit

Do you have a trolling motor on your kayak? That looks like RF interference.
