I'm heading to lake livingston next weekend and any help on what techniques to use for catfish, crappie, and white bass/hybrids would be appreciated! Where to look for them and I'm open to any methods!

Bank or Boat? How big a boat? It's a large lake. What part of the Lake will you be staying at/near? Probably your best option is to hire a guide your first time. It is a big and potentially dangerous lake when the wind blows, there are a lot of stumps (some where you don't expect). Water is muddy now, but clearing if no more rain comes. Catfish are shallow up near the bulkheads early in the morning - Catch fresh shad in a castnet is best bait option fish under cork close to the bulkhead. Crappie I cant help you with. Whites are typically caught trolling or jigging slabs this time of year. Very few hybrids - Livingston has not been stocked with hybrids. Several good guides on the lake, but the one I have personally fished with and had a great trip, very knowledgable on all the species you listed, hard working, fun to fish with is Loy Deason, aka Shadslinger on this site. Here is his website: http://lakelivingstonguides.com/index.html

Have a great trip,
Tom

You can put in for free at Tigerville park. Idle out of the cove and veer to the right and go out @ 3-400 yards. On a weekend there will probably be a couple of boats already trolling the point there. Decent spot for whites.

Be very careful on the south end in a 14 ft jon boat. Seriously, Livingston can get dangerous very quickly, more so than most any lake you will ever fish.

Trolling for whites, the standard rig is the "hell/pet". This is a hookless hellbender rigged with a pet spoon trailer on a leader of 18 to 24 inches or more if you wish. The south end is off color right now but improving each day. There are some whites around the southwest side of Pine Island and will be more and more each day as the water clears. Good luck...and seriously, be careful.

Academy has the big hellbenders without hooks....and #12 pet spoon for whites, sometimes #13 when the shad is larger.

Thanks alot! I haven't been there since the early 2000. Black neon/chart. in soft plastics and firetiger 7A Bomber crankbaits. Probably going to throw them to start. Should be some topwater action.
