Took a friend out to JP last night to try and put him on some fish. Same deal as the last two times, tied off at the bridge and threw the light out. Started off slow, wasn't getting hits on a slab, switched to curly tail jigs. I was going to try to catch some minnows in a minnow trap but they weren't as thick as they had been and I don't think I baited it right. My friend was kind of excited about catching fish, so we stuck it out till I thought I had a limit and he had 22 or so fish. When I got home, I found I was one shy of 25, so I still haven't caught a limit yet wink but I added a nice sack of fillets to the freezer. Didn't climb into bed till after 6 this morning, but it's a good tired.

Ain't nothing wrong with one short of a limit. Great job!!

Just got back and out of the shower. Took me forever to get what's all going on and how the fish like it. Got on the water around 8:30 and I tied up to the bridge 3 rows down (but from the way they were tearing the minnows up you can tie to any from 2 up). Ended up with 22 Sandies and 1 nice crappie. Threw back 1 cat, 2 small crappies, and about 10 - 10" and under Sandies. Not a bad night at all. I just wish the Sandies at JP were magnums like Twok....LOL.

Yeah, Joe Pool "magnums" are 12 inches. smile Still, the ratio of keepers to throwbacks has been really nice.

I've seen folks fishing there just about year round. I've definitely spent nights just drowning minnows there, so there may be some seasonal activity going on right now. Or maybe I'm finally learning how to catch fish, lol.
