FYI - I received this update today from TPWD:

Catfish stocking begins next week at most Neighborhood Fishin' lakes!

Sites in Amarillo, Austin, San Antonio, Wichita Falls and Waco will be stocked Thursday, April 26.
Lakes in the Dallas-Fort Worth area will also be stocked Thursday, except Lakeside Park in Duncanville where the dam is being repaired. That lake will receive its first catfish stocking in early May.
Sites in Houston, Katy and College Station will be stocked Friday, April 27.

Neighborhood Fishin' lakes will receive new catfish approximately every two weeks through July. Visit the program website for more information.

Last year, most were 12"-16" channel cats. I caught a couple that were maybe 18". I like this time of year. Time to introduce some kiddos to catfishing.

At South Lakes Park in Denton I was catching some that were going over 20inces.

Im not sure if people are bringing big fish out there and putting them in their selves or what but I personally watched an 8 pounder pulled out by a older man around 7 am one morning. I couldn't believe my eyes... I seriously doubt they're stocking fish that large on purpose. However for that pond it was kind of a rare event for my wife and I to pull out anything under 15inches.

I miss that pond so much. =( Its the main reason I wish I'd never moved.

Yes,thanks. Good eating size, there. Gonna have to hit City Pond and hope I have better luck with the cats than I did with the darn trouts.
