Can someone tell me how to get to Lake Gladewater and is there a yearly fee? I have a house about 10 mile from Gladewater and would like to go to some of the small lakes around me. Thanks

Big Marv,

I was born and raised in Gwater and my dad still lives less than a mile from the lake. Which way would you be coming toward Gladewater? That'll help me give you good directions.

I don't live there. I bought a house on a small private lake just south of Gladewater and I usually fish in my lake. I just wanted to try some of the lakes in the area. I have had the house about a year. Someone had told me how to get there (lady in town) but had no luck locating it. Thanks for the information.

I go into Gladewater from the south. So I take CR370 to 271 to Gladewater.

I would not waste my time on Gladewater, it sucks!!! Go the extra distance and hit Gilmer you'll do much better.

BMarv,

Coming in on 271 turn left as soon as you cross the RR tracks in the middle of town on to the red brick road. Follow it past the post office all the way to Hwy 80. You'll come out next to Bodacious BBQ on your right. Turn left of 80. Turn right on E. Lake Dr. which is your 2nd right after turning on 80. It's just a big hill that brings you down to Gay Ave. Turn left on Gay Ave. and follow it around to Pinecrest. Turn right on Pinecrest and follow it to stop sign. Go straight across onto Lakeshore and follow it on around past the beach area to the boat dock.

Lake Gladewater is a good little lake. It doesn't get much pressure since Gilmer finally got a lake. However, there are some nice fish in there when you learn the lake. It ain't that hard. The lake isn't very deep. I'd guess 20-25ft might be your deepest. There is a nice creek channel that runs just off the swimming boundaries out from the beach down to the spillway. Lots of brush of the ends of docks. I've caught many many fish outta this lake. Usually early around sun-up during the summer or at night around the lighted docks.

Good luck and let me know if you need further assistance.
