8 inch plus warmouth, 9 inch redear! As tasty as it gets!!  8 inch plus hybrid greenie, 10 inch redear! That's pretty tasty too!  Can't wait till the May full moon. Fish caught late at night, around 11'ish, on UL gear, and 1/32nd oz tube jigs, on UNPAINTED jig heads, 6 lb test. Rudy

Wow! I've ran across fish that size only once and that was near Turner Falls on a catch & release lake. Good job!

Private, restricted access pond. And it may soon be off limits to even me which is really sad. Some trespassers got in and left the place looking like a city dump! Owner is PO'ed and doesn't want to let anyone, and i mean anyone, back in. he is upgrading fences and security as i type!

It just takes one dumbarse to mess things up. I always pick up some trash at my favorite places even if I didn't put it there. Every little bit helps.

Those are some beasts! What color tubes do you use at night? I seem to remember you using chart/red before. I am going to try a little night fishing this year. It is a shame if you lose your spot.

I use red/chartreuse/black-charteuse/blue-white. Color does not seem to matter but size does,(heh-heh). the place i fished before it became someone's personal city dump has super clear water with some algae, but tons of hydrilla. So 1/32nd oz seems to sink at just the right speed to get to the strike zone(beds).
I just cast and bring back a steady but slow retrieve. No bobber or anything, just the jig tied directly to the line, usually 6 lb Berkley Trilene XL, sometimes 4. There are some HUGE bass in there, so i set drag accordingly and take my chances!
I have two back up gravel pits, also super clear, and full of 9-10 inch bluegills and green hybrids, not too many redear though. But those two pits i prefer to fish in the daytime. We shall see.

NIGHT TIME IS THE RIGHT TIME FO' SHO'!!!!!!  I believe there are 'gills, redear, greenie hybrid, and maybe even a redbreast in this mix. Chartreuse/red tube jigs, UL gear, 6 lb test. 1/32 oz jigs. Between 10:30 PM and 11:30'ish. Good times. Rudy
