let me start by saying i'm just a weekender that throws in about 1 after work trip to the local city lake per week. so this year i got on a decent pattern in january and caught a couple good ones. i then decided that i would count my 5 lbers this year and see how many i could get. well yesterday i got number 16 after work and got to thinking that is a little better than 1 per week. now i realize that this the best time of year to catch bigger fish but i decided to set a goal of 50 over 5 for the year. have not got pics of all of them so far but i have had witness to the ones with no pics. so here's a few from so far and i will add them as i go throughout the year. btw feel free to post some of y'alls pigs on here too and we'll just rename this the bragging post.

I would just like to catch 50 fish, period. I heard that!! Last year was probably my best year ever fishing ... got to thinking I finally got this thing figured out, but this year so far has really humbled me. Not that I haven't caught any fish, but I think I have already been skunked more times this year than all of last combined. Don't think I had a skunk last year till sometime in August.
This might be the weirdest, most pointless post ever. I am not against golf, since I cannot but suspect it keeps armies of the unworthy from discovering fishing

5 pounders seem to be a magic number, 3-4 pounders look big, but something about 5 pounders that put them in a special class. congrats!

Great goal. 5lb bass to me seem to be the best fighting size.

Awesome start to the year. 16 five pounders by now for weekend warrior is really good. Last year was probably my best year ever fishing ... got to thinking I finally got this thing figured out, but this year so far has really humbled me. +1 Great goal. 5lb bass to me seem to be the best fighting size. +1 I've caught 7's, 8's and a 9, but the hardest fighting fish I never had was a 5.8 from Fork last year. Never seen a fish strip drag like that. I was certain I had my DD.
