Any info for fishing this weekend on ft Gibson lake. Have only been there once before and it was earlier in the year. PM me if you don't want everyone to know.

It has probably changed some but back in 2006 to 2008 I fished several tournaments and always caught good fish flipping a 3/8 oz.blue black jig around the cypress trees. Even the ones too shallow to get close with a boat had fish on them.

Thanks for the info. Was the water at normal pool or high /low? Which end of the lake did you fish? I fished it in February a couple years ago. Headed up to fish this weekend. Thanks again.

As I recollect, the water level was slightly low and we were fishing from mid-lake toward the north. We fished mainly the coves and main lake points on the west side of the lake. We tried some on the East side but had better results on the west side.

Try Clear Creek on the east side of the midlake area. Lots of good cover and structure to fish. The south banks of Jackson Bay and the area around Taylor Ferry can be great too. Traps, plastics/jigs, swimbaits and maybe some topwater by now. That lake is full of fish and when they are on it can be a blast!

The lake's been 20 feet high within the last two weeks and they have been pulling it down steadily. That has the big fish suspended in 15-20 feet right now. If it will stay stable for a few days it could be awesome, but the key is what the water level is doing.

Had 14.35 last weekend and din't sniff a check. That lake seems to have more 3 pound fish in it than any lake on earth. My fish were caught on a bifflehead on flat rocky secondary points in the Toppers area. Also pitchin a lizard to any available cover. Lake is back to normal so not much in the water. Also caught fish behind other on a very small carolina rig. 3/8 oz. weight on those same shallow rocky points.
