We were there a couple of weeks ago. Very muddy water. Go to Amistad instead, you will love it there!

That's my problem, the fishing was tough for us on Sunday, although the paper had UC Bass Club with some pretty good stringers and a big bass of 10+ #s. Hopefully we will do better the next time we go there. We got bite on C-rig & crankbait.

Does it seem like most of the fish being caught are shallow, 5ft or less, or deeper say 10-14ft?

Our club, the McAllen Bass Anglers, fished our tournament there 4/8-9/06 (last weekend). I think most of our fish were from 4-13' We caught lots of bass, mostly smaller, but I had my limit by 9:00 on Sunday and culled all day. My stringer for two days was over 28 lbs (4th place out of 21 anglers). The winner had a 10 pounder in his 31 lb. (2 day bag).
I think the main pattern was off of secondary points, on plastics on the 1st dropoff (4-5')where there was some hydrilla or brush. We also caught some nice bass in the sunken islands stickups. There you go! Now tell me about Coleto Creek! That's our next T next month. Visit our website at: http://www.angelfire.com/tx6/mbassanglers/index.html

I fished Choke last sat and sun and found smaller fish in the shallow water of 4-7ft. Most of our bigger fish were caught in deeper water being
8-16ft. Had a 22.5# sack(5 fish) by myself on sat, and 27.5# sack(5 fish) w/buddy on sun. Caught all of them on t-rigg & c-rigg soft plastics fished VERY SLOWLY. 6 fish over 5# and all caught deep in 10-16ft. Don't fish tourneys, but wish i did this last weekend!!!

I went sunday from 8 to 3. Three people in the boat 60 fish caught 20 keepers one 9lbr six fish over 4lbr pounds. Watched my friend and his wife who was sharing area with us catch 4 fish in a row over five pounds. So far my best day this year on Choke. Fished one area all day, fish were relaiting to points & humps in submerged bushs. All fish on plastics.
