Although we fished all day, we managed to boat 16 fish total w/no dinks. The smallest was about 13 inches & the largest was 3 lbs. Most on red Traps in 3-4 foot of water about 30 feet from shore. Most other boats that we could see were also catching fish. They definately are in the pre-spawn pattern.
The best part of the whole day is that we saw a bald eagle fly overhead with a fish in it's Talons. I don't think we could have asked for a better day, except for maybe a little higher temp. It was definately a memorable day!!!

Cool ! Sounds like a pretty good day. Which end of the lake were you fishing ?

BasAm got his tail kicked too. Hey BasAm, how many did you catch? And how many did I....errr, I mean the other person in the boat catch? So how many red Strike King Diamond Shads are you going to buy now? I will sell you a good used one, never mind the chipped paint and bent hooks from ALL those fish!!!!!

Try around Anchorage Marina and the cove just under the small bridge on 1097. Next look for humps near the dam. I marked alot of fish near a neighborhood canal and the east end of the dam this summer. How about launching off 105 and going into any of those coves. I have never tried that far south, but it looks good. Also try down by the Silverleaf Resort in that area. What is the name of that creek BasAm?

Heck try Anchorage Marina...caught an 8 lber there one time across from the house boats. The cove that Fishless is talking about is just N/E of the damn. Used to be some good fish up there but since the RV Park was put in I'm not sure. Windwick Cove/Bell Branch Creek & Live Branch Creek Near Thousand Trails is the cove.

Ok trying to figure out Conroe and learn the lake. Is any of those spots near Stowaway Marina. This is the spot I've always launched at and havent ever had much luck anywhere around there.
I can backlash toilet paper.

Stowaway is on north (sorta) side. Most of these places we are talking about can be reached by launching at Anchorage off 830 or at April Plaza off 105 down south.

Except for Caney Creek. When you come out of Stowaway heading toward the bridge (1097), Caney Creek will be to your right...large cove.
