Had a bunch of blowups on my Koppers frog today, but only managed to hook up with one, I have exclusively used Stanley ribbits but now have started using both frogs. Is there anyway to increase my hookups with the Koppers? I count to 3 then let them have it and I stilled missed them, should I bend the hooks out a little? any tips would be appreciated

not new to frog fishing just new to the hollow frogs, on ribbits I have atleast a 80% hook up ratio, guess I just sucked it up today being the first day this year throwing a frog and only hooking one fish, yeah I use 65lb braid

Somedays they just won't get enough of it. It happens.

Yep, and sometimes those fish are so big you think they're a giant grinnel until it comes out of the water, like the absolute monster I saw rise up do that to me on Lewisville Sunday.

Biggest fish I've ever seen up close and personal in a lake, and that includes bed fish on Fork that wouldn't cooperate.

DD no doubt.

There is a double digit bass in Lewisville?

Don't worry to much about that counting business... Like others have said, some days they just don't eat it but you already know that from the Ribbits. When they blow up on it start reeling at a retrieve speed about as you would a 1/2oz spinnerbait. Once you see or feel the line starting to get tight hammer them HARD! If you get 2 or three blow ups and no solid bites try a faster retrieve. They may be getting too good of a look at your frog. Are you fishing relativly clear water or away from a lot of cover?
