Headed to Lake Fork April 23rd, 24th, 25th.... Will be taking a long awaited guided trip with James Caldemeyer.... I'm hoping that we will have a much more successful trip than we did back in October of 11'..... How good are the fish biting this past week(end)? Good time to go?

James is a good dude last October was just not good lake took forever to turnover I went with him also that same time didn't catch much but learned a ton. You have to remember just cause they are guides doesn't mean you are going to whack them.

I would love to go catch a 20+ stringer of 5 best fish.. but thats not my #1 priority. I'm hoping to learn some new tactics on fishing and different ideas to help make me a better fisherman. I also will be in for the good fellowship that i know will be there. give me them two things and I'll be called a "HAPPY CAMPER".......

Ahh no not James! JK he is a great guy! Works hard and my boys love him. I will stay away, and the weather should be good! He will know who I am, everytime I go out there or around him the weather turns brutal! Should have a day you won't forget! Tell James hello for me.

Bad timing with the lake turnover. It killed the bite for the Media Championship also.

Hope you do better than I did today. It was my first time there, and I didn't get one bump. I was mainly in the Little Mustang area. Lot's of other boats were in my vicinity, and come to think of it, I didn't notice them getting any fish either. There were people running all over the lake, however, and maybe they found some. I tried deep and shallow in the timber, as well as trying what little grass and reeds I could find.

I did see a lot of turtles, alligator gar, and one really big raccoon!

Shad spawn should be on. Square bills are the ticket.

You won`t have any problem breaking 20 pounds at all. By far this is the best time of year that I have on Fork for numbers and quality. They are easy pickins for the next few weeks.
