Sorry for the delay in posting this report. Started off the day very over cast and cool. Just right for a trip to the border. Put in at Diablo East. Nothing much on top waters, caught a few on water mellon seed and red senkos and lizards till about 10 then the fish shut off. Trided everything that we could think of without much luck. Stopped and ate made a run over to the cove just to the North of the ramp and finished up. I have always caught fish in the rivers on purple worms but every time we have gone to aimstad I have never had luck on them. Anyway my father in law puts on a purple worm and catches a few. Then I put on a purple lizard and start catching some. We found two beds and were able to catch a 4lb and a 6.5 lb off of the beds which was the highlight of the day.

All in all not a bad day of fishing for us any way. Grandfather was able to take home some fillets and we had a good time. I think the fish are still pre spawn, we saw very few beds.

I sure wish that more people would post reports on Amistad, I know there have to be a lot more people who fish there that read b/c it is a boat show over there every Friday, Sat, Sun.

hey ya'll fish are still spawning at amistad so it really doesnt matter where you fish you will catch fish so concentrate on shallow coves where you can do some sight fishin but if you want to catch the big ones you can try 10-15 feet of water. You can eat as many fish as you want its better to see people take them home than on the bottom of the dock dead. By the way people fishing on the banks are all friendly here so dont think you have to throw your dead fish. Folks especially the kiddos dont mind you guys offering some keepers. cheers
