I have a 2006 Ranger Z21 and the axle has broken away from the weld on my trailer. Does anyone know a respectable shop in the Lufkin Texas area that could weld it back and get me back on the water?

Box Services in Huntington, they will come to you and reasonably priced. They do all the work for my company on our heavy equipment repairs. Ask for David or Robert...
When in doubt, jerk.

You might check with Max's welding on Hwy 69. It is over close to trilakes tackles.

After you get the weld repaired you will be on your way temporarily. You will still need to go to a frame shop for an alignment. If you don't do this , keep an eye on your tire wear.

Steve 187 is correct. The welding prcess causes a stress build up that can draw the axle and cause it to be out of alignment. I had one repaired on a tandem axle trailer on the right front. I made a lake trip (400 mi. round trip) and saw severe wear on the outside edge of the tire.

MY father-in-law's 08 Ranger trailer is ruining it's tires, and pretty quickly I might add!

I'm not a mechanic or mechanically savvy, but my axles are held to the trailer with u bolts and not welded to the trailer. I had a weld break on the axle, and had a guy reweld it for $50. After that one tire on that axle was at an angle and it wore out fast. Ended up getting a new axle for around $100 bucks from a trailer shop in Tyler, wish I had done that to start with.

Talk to Ranger Boats before you do anything. I had a problem with one of the axels on my 2006 Z21. They replaced the axel and gave me two new tires. The trailer was out of warranty at the time this happened.
