Caught this baby in about 6-7 feet of water on a senko style bait. Location was a city park in Houston. She was clearly post spawn but still a beautiful fish.

I weighed and measured her and then sent her back to grow. I'm interested to see what the range on poundage is on the guesses. I'll update the real weight and length later.

Alright, as suggested by another poster, I'm adding the weight to this original post. She measured just over 26" and weighed 7.75 lbs on my scale. However, due to some funky weights I've had on 2 big fish this week at the same pond, I tested my scale yesterday. Turns out it's measuring between 1/2 and 1 lb light. So, that fish is probably around 8.5 lbs. I think. It's conceivable that the scale got outta wack between last Thursday and this week, but since it's been sitting quietly in my fishing bag in the garage, I doubt it. Good fish at any weight, however.

No idea, but that's urban fishing at its best.

I guess I'll be the low estimator here, but I'd say around 5 lbs... Maybe even 6 lbs., depending upon how thick she was.

Nice fish, whatever the weight. And what the heck is that wort on its right fin? Did you catch a fish with an STD? Lol

That's the back end of a 45 round lol.

like the man says...if you're swimming in the ocean and get bitten by a shark, its not a shark attack. You're in THEIR neighborhood. If you're at home in your shower, turn around and a shark is in there with you...THAT'S a shark attack

Well, as I suspected, there was quite a range.

Actual weight was 7.75 lbs and just over 26". Should've caught her 3 weeks ago. Would've been over 9 full of eggs. Guess I can't complain too much, though. Great fish.
