How do you mount your trolling motor on this boat and get the wires to a plug. I bought a 4' access port but I don't really want to cut the boat if I don't have to. Is there a better way. I see a trolling motor on your boat. All advice appreciated.

I had replaced the old one with the 101 Ipilot.. I would mount the minnkota quick release to a heavy alum. plate to the bow. cutting out was necessary to get washers and nuts on underneath.. just made the acess port hole near there to reach in. it was trickey in that you need to support the motor base and it hung off quite a bit which caused alot of flexing in the deck when the trolling motor was running full.. strongly reccomend a plate to fully support the base of the TM.

I am wore out. I took a half day of vacation today and ran the cables for the transducers to the center console. This time, I bought the Y cable and I am going to try and use the two transducers on my 898si. I am not sure how that works but I am going to try it anyway. I am suppose to have the side imaging transducer outside the boat and the thru the hull puck in the bilge so I can get depth information on plane. Anyway, I installed the 898, drilled the holes and positioned the down-rigger mounts (waiting on back plates), installed the guest dual battery charger with AC plug beside it. I then moved up to the troll-motor. When I sold my boat I took my riptide w/I-pilot off and kept it. I had to install a 4" access plate up front (hate cutting my boat) but had to do it to install the troll motor and plug. Still waiting on the wire. All in all 6 hrs of work in the sun. Thursday, the talon comes in and I have another afternoon of project completion. I have to admit, I do like getting her ready but I would rather be out fishing. Can't wait, can't wait, can't wait. Hope to see everbody out on the water. Thanks everyone for your nice comments. Hard not to be a little proud.
