Can any please let me know where I could possibly get some fresh shad near the Garland area? All of my usuall spots are pretty much empty or just not there?

They are shallow. Feeder creeks, any bank with the wind blowing in your face, grass, gravel bottoms, shallow points, and sheltered coves. Just keep throwing you'll find em. It's like any other fish, what works one day may not work the next.

Lake Lewisville at early morning, you can get YOUR 500 LIMITS . Especially at exit JUSTIN.

And if u cant catch them in the lake Capt Daves in Plano has it and the asian market off of legacy road near Chase Oaks Church in Plano also

Thanks guys. No Ive been reading alot about flatheads being in season and that they are mainly biting on perch any one know of any good spots for perch?

For perch go to your local creek with some trout hooks and hot dog. Should be able to get a bunch. You can also get plenty in your castnet. Throw it on the ramps and in shallow vegetation and shady areas along the shoreline.

Don't throw your net into deep water this time of year. If you stay shallow, you can always just walk in and un-hang your net. The shad are right up on the bank. You can't miss right now!

I was catching them with my bare hands a couple weeks ago and filled up half a grocery bag. Big and small.

Get up early and be there by 7 a.m. go to lake ray hubbard, I was at rowlett road bridge where rowlett creek's mouth is, but on the corner closest to the dirt parking lot.
