The deep bite is where it is at right now on Fayette as we move into our summer pattern. Many people believe that power plant lakes slow during the summer and the USED to be the case here on Fayette. The fishing is getting better and better during the summer BUT you must go deep. Deep diving crank baits like the Rapala DT16 in shad or blue gill really produce good quality fish. The Carolina rig is old faithful on the deep humps while a drop shot will also do you well on the tougher days. Don't forget to keep something ready for the bass as they begin the schooling season. Usually they begin in the backs of the coves and follow the shad to the main lake.
