Well if it is bigger than the state of texas recors, that would make it a new world record also. The guy who caught the blue from last year holds both.

Keep your powder dry & don't fire until you see the whites of their eyes!!

The state/world record blue for rod and reel is 121lb and is on display at TPWD Freshwater fishery in Athens. She (Splash) will live out her life there.

That's what I thought, but I thought at first they were going to release her, per the guys request that caught her. Sharon

I am kind of glad they are keeping her there. I saw the pictures on their web site last year where the diver hand feeds her every day at noon. I think Splash has become quite spoiled to the special attention she receives at the fishery.

Let's see if this will work for me. Thisis my favorite picture of Splash. It appears to have been taken just minutes after she was caught. I respect these young men for releasing any fish they catch that is over twenty pounds. I respect Cody even more for letting TPW keep her at the Athens fishery for all of us to enjoy.

We live in Denison which is basically on the border of Texas and Oklahoma. Lake Texoma is just a skip away and we do quite a bit of fishing at Hagerman National Wildlife Refuge. We also have a couple of favorite spots on the Red River before in dumps into Lake Texoma.
We fished below the dam when I was younger, but you could not pay me to fish there now. There are too many people who do not know how to fish in that area.
