Good luck cutting them without a saw, lol. They are called armored catfish for a reason. I contacted TPWD a couple of yers ago and their exact response was "remove them from the water".

they're actually edible, if it is a plecotumis, they catch them in the amazon and they can be eaten, just fillet it as you would a normal fish, use a really sharp knife and an armored catfish is completely different then a pleco

I have read on the spearfishing forums that they taste sorta like lobster.
