Best rates will most likely require a 740 fico and 10% equity (down). Credit Unions are going to be your best bet and typically will rate match since they lend their own money.

Credit unions are good. But, they will limit how many years you can finance it for.

Your Community Credit Union

2.49% 66 months for 2008 or newer boat, just called to verify.

Yes, you do need good credit but I've got one boat financed with them now and will be doing business with them again.

Anyone who lives, works or worships within ten miles of one of their branches can be a member. https://www.yccu.com/about/membership.php

I'm farther than ten miles, but at the time I joined I was attending church with my ex within the required distance. Just glad they don't take the boat back when you can't go to that church anymore!

Credit unions have always had the best rates for me but the current boat was financed through reclending due to a person to person deal and my CU preferring to go through a dealer and they did a bang up job. I'll use them again when I buy another.

ALWAYS look up a credit union before a bank. Not only will you find better rates, but more lenient loans and personable service. The only downfall is finding a credit union that will let you finance for longer if you need to. I have mine financed with USAA and they are great, but they are run more like a credit union than a bank.

The big 7 or so banks are being severely restricted on making loans (too big to fail). The community / small banks have less Fed restrictions and so can make riskier loans. A boat loan is never a very secure loan.

4.5 percent at resource one crefit union. I would recommend them before you try rec lending or any credit union before them. siunds like their rates are a kittle high unless you donr have access to a credit union even with bad credit.
