I got a late start this morning but nonetheless I decided I may as well enjoy the mild calm weather for a change and wet my hook. The section I usually fish isn't that deep, maybe 5 to 10 ft. but I was still able to catch crappie that were suspended around sunken tree limbs and stumps using a chartruse 1/16 crappie jig on one pole and a bobber with a live minnow on the other. Caught about sixteen crappie but only 5 were keepers. Also caught a nice striper and about a 2 lb black bass. Released those guys, but boy it was fun to reel them in!
I would have stayed out longer but the sun was really getting too warm for me so I went back to the house. Before the sun goes down tonight, I guess I'll try it again. Hope everybody had a great day....

I was going to fish this evening but my battery seemed too weak to run my trolling motor, which is my only source of power besides an oar. Put my battery on the charger and I plan to try again tomorrow.

I have been fishing Lewisville once or twice a week now. For fishing enjoyment, I am getting lots of bites off of DK's, but rarely any keepers. The big ones are biting on 3-5 inch live shad. Key word here is live. No bites once they die, so I am rebaiting every 15 to 20 minutes. Catching then in 10 feet of water around rocky points.
